Bannerghatta National Park is one of the most prominent wildlife safari parks in India. The National Park is found near Bangalore, Karnataka state of India. The national park came into existence in 1970 and finally acclaimed as one of the most notable national parks in India in 1974. In the year 2002, a portion of the park came to be known as Bannerghatta Biological Park, which is popularly known as BBP. The park was created keeping in mind the idea to formulate an opportunity for the residents in Bangalore, especially for the children to have a natural scenic beauty filled with flora and fauna in the center of the business of the Metropolitan City.

Boating

The Bannerghatta National Park, as well as Biological Park, has recently come up with a new tourist attracting activity and that is boating. The boating is located within the premises of the zoo in the Kavalkare. Later, this area grew into a fully fledged zoo that is found between the Champakadhama hill and Mirza hill in the Bannerghatta Sandal Reserve. The zoo is filled with rich and rare species of reptiles, mammals and bird each of which are exotic and worth gazing at. Some of the most prominent sources of attraction in the zoo are the Himalayan black bear, Thamin deer, King Cobra, Himalayan black bear, Hog deer, and various birds. Apart from that, there are museum and auditorium which educates the tourist about the history of the animals and spreads awareness about preserving the wildlife through wildlife film shows.

Now, this is one of the main attractions of the Bannerghatta National Park and the tourists mainly come here to experience the extensive forest safari. The most unique feature about the safari is that it is divided into different categories.

Lion Safari

The safari exclusively works towards allowing the visitors and the tourists to get a view of the King of the Jungle, Lion from the forest safari cars. The cars are absolutely protected and it makes the safari safe without any possibility of danger. At present, there are round about 19 lions of which 10 are males and 9 are females staying in the lion safari area.

Tiger Safari

The Tiger Safari is considered to be one of the best kinds of safari in the Bannerghatta National Park. The numbers of tigers are huge and rich. Proper care is taken of the tigers and they are left into the safari maintaining a proper rotation for the attraction of the tourists. Presently, the national park has 26 tigers out of which there are 15 male and 11 female normal tigers. There are 3 males and 4 females white tigers as well.

Herbivore Safari

As the name suggests, the safari exclusively caters around displaying the tourists the herbivore animals residing the jungle. The main attraction of the safari includes Sambar, Barking Deer, Gaur, Cheetal, Black Buck and Nilgai.

Bear Safari

Lastly, the tourists are treated with bear safari in the national park which contains around 77 bears in all. The forest area is planted with a gamut of fruit yielding trees sp as to maintain the natural habitat of the bears and to allow them to stay comfortably.

Butterfly Park and Wilderness Tourism

The last two attractions that bring tourists to this spot are the Butterfly Park and the Wilderness Tourism. The butterfly park is a place which is filled with rare kind of butterflies and the tourists get to see them much to their excitement. As for the wilderness tourism is concerned, the tourists are taken to four main places namely Rock and Pre-Historic Garden, Suvarnamukhi Watchtower, Udige Bande, and Babar Stone.
