Brihaspati Stotram Hindi Lyrics. This is a powerful mantra addressed to Brihaspati, one of the nine Navagraha planets. Brihaspati or Lord Guru (planet Jupiter) is regarded as a Vedic deity and is the teacher of Devas. Thursdays is the best time to chant this mantra.

Brihaspati called the Guru of other deities. Brihaspati called “Guru” (teacher) also. Brahaspati represents knowledge, wisdom and Satva guna. (स्कान्दपुराणान्तर्गतम्)

गुरुर्बृहस्पतिर्ज्जीवः सुराचार्यो विदां वरः।
वागीशो धिषणो दीर्घश्मश्रुः पीतांबरो युवा ॥१॥

सुधादृष्टिर्ग्रहाधीशो ग्रहपीडापहारकः।
दयाकरः सौम्यमूर्तिः सुरार्च्यः कुड्मलद्युतिः॥२॥

लोकपूज्यो लोकगुरुः नीतिज्ञो नीतिकारकः।
तारापतिश्चाङ्गिरसो वेददेद्यः पितामहः ॥३॥

भक्त्या बृहस्पतिं स्मृत्वा नामान्येतानि यः पठेत्।
अरोगी बलवान् श्रीमान् पुत्रवान् स भवेन्नरः ॥४॥

जीवेत् वर्षशतं मर्त्यः पापं नश्यति नश्यति।
यः पूजयेत् गुरुदिने पीतगन्धाक्षतांबरैः ॥५॥

पुष्पदीपोपहारैश्च पूजयित्वा बृहस्पतिम्।
ब्रह्मणान् भोजयित्वा च पीडाशान्तिर्भवेत् गुरोः ॥६॥

ब्रहस्पति स्त्रोत्र

Brihaspati Stotram Translation

गुरुर्ब्रुहस्पतिर्जीवः सुराचार्यो विदांवरः |
वागीशो घिषणो दीर्धश्मश्रुः पीतांबरो युवा || १ ||

Teacher, lord of prayer of beings, Teacher of demi gods, Greatest among the mighty, lord of words, preceptor, One having a long beard, he who is young and wears yellow silk.

सुधा द्रष्टिर्ग्रहाधीशो ग्रह पीडापहारकः |
दयाकरः सौम्यमूर्ति सुराच्यॅ कुंमध्युति || २ ||

He whose sight is nectar like, lord of all planets, He who steals away the bad effects of all planets, He who is merciful, he who is soft looking, He who is the teacher of devas, he who looks like a bud,

लोक्पूज्यो लोकगुरुर्नीतिज्ञो नीतिकारक |
तारापतिश्र्चांगिरसो वेदवैध्य पितामह || ३ ||

He who is respected by all, the teacher of all, He who is just, he who implements justice, Lord of all stars, he who is the son of Angeerasa, He who is worshipped by Vedas, grandfather,

भक्त्या बृहस्पतिं स्मृत्वा नामान्येतानि य पठेत् |
अरोगी बलवान् श्रीमान् पुत्रवान स भवेन्नर || ४ ||

He who remembers Brahaspathi with devotion and recites these names, Would be free from disease, would be strong, Would be wealthy, and would be blessed with several sons.

जिवेद्दर्षशतं मर्त्यो पापं नश्यति नश्यति |
यः पूजयेद् गुरुदिने पीत गंघाक्षतांबरैः || ५ ||

He who worships him on Thursdays, with sandal, holy rice and silk, Would live for one hundred years and all his sins would be destroyed.

पुष्पदिपोपहारैश्र्च पूजयित्वा बृहस्पतिम् |
ब्राह्मणान् भोजयित्वा च पीडाशान्तिर्भवेद् गुरोः || ६ ||

Guru would remove all problems and bless with peace, Those who worship with light, flower and presents, And serve food to Brahmins.

इति श्री स्कंदपुराणे बृहस्पतिस्तोत्रं संपूर्णम् |
