Ghati Subramanya (Kannada: ಘಾಟಿ ಸುಬ್ರಮಣ್ಯ) is a Hindu temple, situated on the outskirts of Bangalore near Tubagere, Doddaballapura, Karnataka, India. Believe is the strongest thing that we have within ourselves. It is said that anything can be achieved if we believe in it. Ghati Subramanya temple is a famous temple down south located in the rural district of Bangalore.  The temple is famous because of the Naga Kshetra. Thousands of devotees come here daily to offer their prayer to Lord Subramanya and pour milk on the anthill which is located  just opposite to the temple. People from all over the country visit this place to offer their prayer to the lord.

Not just for the sake of offering puja but the temple has a long history associated with it.  The temple was built 600 years ago by King Ghorpade from the Sandur Dynasty.  There is a myth which says that god appeared in his dreams and revealed about his existence.  Thereafter the king along with the villagers has made the idol of the lord. From that time the temple is a place of worship belief in the existence of god for the locals and even the tourist.

The idol of Kartikeya with a seven headed cobra is made from a single stone. On the rear of the stone is the carving of Narasimha. It faces eastwards while the idol of Lord Narasimha faces westwards. To ensure that both deities are visible to devotees at the same time, a huge mirror was placed in the rear in the sanctum sanctorum.

Temple timing is one such thing which is very important to discuss. Here are the Ghati Subramanya temple timings– The doors of the temple open at 6:30 in the morning and get closed by 9 at night. The pujas can be offered during this time.

During this interval an arti gets performed known as Abhishekam between 8:30 am to 9am. One cannot do any advance booking for this but have to come early and wait in the line to watch the activity which is huge and extravagant.

The most important part which should be discussed over here is how to reach the place? People come from different corners of the country and they should know the travelling route to the temple.

This is the most common route that every people follows to reach the temple.

  • The nearest railways station of this route is Makali Durga which is around 6.3 kms away from the temple.  This station comes in the guntakal railway line which is directly connected with the city Bangalore.
  • The name of the train is Vijayawada pass and it starts from makalidurga station to bangalore cantonment.
  • The distance of the temple from the railways station is 54 kilometer.

There is also a bus route which people can avail to reach this destination.  There is a direct bus from Doddaballapur which will take you to the gates of the temple. One can also reach the destination through air by landing at Bangalore international airport.
