Maa Kalratri is the seventh manifestation of Goddess Durga. In Hindu religion, during the navratri festivals, they worship Goddess Kalratri mata on the day seventh of Navratri puja. The most violent form of Goddess Parvati is worshipped during the nine nights of Navaratri celebrationsThe complexion of Goddess Kalratri is extremely dark like night. She has long tresses which remain open and Her necklace shines like thunder. The Goddess has three eyes and flames come out from Her nostrils when She breathes.

The Kalratri form of the Goddess is said to destroy all demonic entities. She has four hands. The left two hands hold a torch and a cleaver while the right two hands are in the form of giving blessings. She is seated on a donkey. She is also known as Shubhankari as She always provides auspicious results to Her devotees.

The appearance of Maa Kalratri is very dangerous especially for the evil doers. But her gesture reveals us of protection and assures us of freedom from all troubles and fear. The devotees should not be afraid of her appearance because she gives good fruit to her devotees. The devotees and worshippers should not fear while facing Devi Kalratri because she is responsible for the removal of worry and darkness from the life of sufferer. It is believed that on this day worshippers attain Siddhi, power and practice in the universe.
