Narendra Damodardas Modi, a well known name to all Indian citizens & why not be known! After all he is the current Prime Minister of India. He is the person who gave India a new height of democracy, a jerk to all black-money lenders, a person who actually made a better use of economical concepts through various acts and a person famous for his “Mann ki Baat”. He is one of the Prime Ministers after A.V. Bajpayee who gained the trust of all Indians through his instant decision taking and decisions which favored general public.

Narendra Modi’s inspiring life journey to the Office of Prime Minister began in the by-lanes of Vadnagar, a small town in North Gujarat’s Mehsana district. He was born on the 17th of September 1950; three years after India had gained its Independence. This makes him the first Prime Minister to be born in an independent India. Mr. Modi is the third child born to Damodardas Modi and Hiraba Modi. Mr. Modi comes from a family of humble origins and modest means. The entire family lived in a small single storey house which was approximately 40 feet by 12 feet.

When he was a higher secondary student, his teachers used to describe him as an average student, who has keen interest in debates and theater. He used to play impressive characters which later influenced his political behavior too.

He got engaged in a small age of 13 to Jashodaben Chamanlal and got married at the age of 17 when he was just graduated. Although, his marriage was never a success because he left the home after few years of marriage. He never lived with his wife. His marriage is almost ended. He then shifted his interest in other political activities and never catch up with his wife again.

Against all odds, he completed his studies. He did his schooling from Vadnagar and later obtained post graduation degree in Political Science, one of his favorite subjects.

He is a simple, vegetarian, introvert and workaholic person.

Political Career – When, Why and How Tea vendor became PM

His political interest drove him to discover RSS at a tender age of 8. He started attending their training sessions. There he met Mr. Lakshmanrao Inamdar, who, influenced by Narendra’s thought, became his political mentor and inducted him as junior cadet of RSS. He always had a strong urge to make some difference to the society. He was quite much influenced by the thoughts of Swami Vivekananda which duly booted seeds of spiritualism inside him.

During Indo-Pak war in 1965, he offered his services at railway station to help Indian Soldiers. He also served flood affected victims during 1967. He started working in the canteen owned by his uncle in Gujarat State Road Transport Corporation. From there, he became a full time campaigner of RSS.

His anti-emergency activities made a great influence on senior political leaders and he was appointed as an organiser of newly formed BJP. In 1987, he became the general secretary of BJP at Gujarat state. Later, he won the Amhemeda Municipal Elections. He was selected as the National Secretary of BJP and looked after Haryana and Himachal Pradesh.

He consecutively won the seat of Gujarat Chief Minister for four times and remained there from 2001 to 2014. Viewing his popularity and effective working style, being impressed, BJP decided to let him stand for the position of Prime minister in 2014 general Lok Sabha election. That election process was a never-forgettable one because of the huge popularity Modi gained during election campaign.

Finally, he won the election and took oath as the 15th Prime Minister of independent India on 26th May, 2014. His victory was considered to be the most special one due to large number of favorable voting he received.
